10th Annual Seventh Generation Walk for Mother Earth April 21, 2013

Take to the streets for the 10th Annual Seventh Generation Walk for Mother Earth, Sunday, April 21st, 2013!

HELP US CELEBRATE TEN YEARS OF ACTION!

The Walk this year is in support of the Voices of Indigenous Women and in solidarity with the growing Idle No More Movement.

BRING DRUMS, BANNERS, A CUP, PLATE, KIDS! GARBAGE FREE EVENT

Here’s the plan:

12:30-2pm – Meet at Central Park (in Winnipeg). Our speakers will bring you up to speed on why we do this. Then get in the mood with The Flaming Trolleys Marching Band!
Speakers are
Diane Maytwayashing – on the prophecy of this age of spirituality over materialism and how women can heal the earth.
Jo Redsky – on missing and murdered women, clan responsibilities and disharmony with nature.
Myrle Ballard – flooding and the displacement of families from St. Martins.
Ko’ona Cochrane – INM and water as the women’s responsibility.
Alberteen Spence – (to be confirmed) Hydro and Split Lake

WE WALK TO THE FORKS FOR A WATER CEREMONY AND PICNIC

3:15 (APPROXIMATELY) arrive at the Oodena Circle, at the Forks
Water Ceremony

4 pm Free Picnic (while the food lasts!)
after the water ceremony a, not to be missed, performance by
The Sacred Flame Dance Company! Featuring Stacy Klassen and Jolie Lesperance. (no live fire for this one!)
